Getting Started in Lift a Cube

The first hour on Freaky Strong!’s Roblox incremental.

Getting Started

Lift a Cube drops you on a green map with a cube that looks light until you try to pick it up. The entire game is that joke stretched into an incremental: raise Strength with push-ups, lift heavier cubes for Cash, spend Cash on faster training and rarer arms, walk farther. This beginner guide is the first-hour version of that sentence. It assumes you just pressed Play on Roblox, not that you already chase the 1.3 billion Strength cube.

Minute zero — spawn and Train

Move with WASD, jump with Space, interact with E. The important control is 1 or the Train button at the bottom of the screen. Press it. Your avatar starts push-ups and Strength ticks. That loop is automatic. You do not mash 1. You glance at the floor for multiplier bubbles and click them for a one-rep boost. Full key list sits on the controls page; the habit sits here: Train is always on unless you are in a lift bar.

Do not sprint to the biggest cube you can see. The lift minigame checks Strength. Under the number, the bar will not complete. Sportskeeda’s coverage is blunt about that gate. Stay on Train until the nearest small cube looks plausible, then walk over.

First lift, first Cash

Approach a cube and start the pickup. A bar appears. Rapid left-click (or rapid tap on mobile) drives the icon right. If you meet the Strength requirement, the cube comes up and Cash hits your pocket. Heavier cubes pay more; lighter cubes pay less. That is the only payout math you need on day one. Details and failure cases live in how to lift cubes.

Lift the same legal cube a few times instead of shopping for a new color. You want a Cash pile large enough for the section vendor, not a highlight clip. If the bar barely moves, you guessed high — walk back and Train.

First purchase — upgrades before vanity

Every map section sells at least one permanent upgrade aimed at movement speed or training speed. Buy one of those before you touch the Arm Materials chest. A training-speed upgrade multiplies every push-up you will ever do on this character. A chest roll might hand you a common material that barely moves the needle. Rank later buys with the upgrades tier list.

Movement speed matters once you start walking between cubes. It does not matter if you still fail the first lift. Order of operations for the first hour:

  1. Train
  2. Lift a cube you can finish
  3. Buy the local training or walk upgrade
  4. Only then roll the chest

First chest — Arm Materials

The Arm Materials chest converts Cash into a multiplier on Strength gains. That multiplier is why two players who AFK for the same number of minutes end with different Strength. Roll when you have leftover Cash, equip anything strictly better than your current arms, and keep Train running. How rarity and replacement work is on how to get arm materials and the arm materials tier list.

Do not reroll in a panic because a YouTube thumbnail showed diamond-plate cubes. Those clips are endgame. Your job is to make push-ups worth more, not to look like the home hero thumbnail.

First-hour checklist

  • Train is looping (key 1)
  • You clicked at least a few multiplier bubbles
  • You lifted a cube whose Strength you actually meet
  • You bought one section upgrade
  • You rolled the chest at least once with leftover Cash
  • You know where the next heavier cube sits (peek at the walkthrough)
  • You have not spent Robux (you do not need to)
  • You bookmarked codes even though none are live, so a later drop is one click

What “good” looks like after an hour

You should be stronger than when you spawned, slightly richer, and standing in the same section or the next one — not at the end of the map. Overtraining is allowed because there is no rebirth. If you enjoy AFK, leave Train running while you read the rest of this wiki. Come back, lift, spend, repeat. That is the whole beginner loop, and it is the same loop GravyKoalaMan’s noob-to-strongest video stretches into a full session.

When the nearest cube becomes free and the next one is still a wall, you have outgrown this page. Switch to how to train for bubble discipline and skip logic, then to the endgame plan only after your Strength is measured in millions, not dozens.

Common beginner stalls

Staring at a cube you cannot lift. The bar is not a skill issue yet. It is a number issue. Train.

Spending every coin on the chest. You skipped the vendor. Buy speed first.

Turning Train off to walk. You can walk with the loop running. Turning it off is a self-nerf.

Hunting codes on day one. There are no confirmed codes. Play the loop. Return to the codes hub after updates.

Installing a script because the first cube is heavy. Key 1 already idles training. Read the scripts hub before you inject anything.

The rest of the wiki assumes you passed this hour. If you did, you already understand Lift a Cube better than the title suggests.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers for training, cubes, and arm rolls.

Is Lift a Cube free to play for beginners?

Yes. You can lift the heaviest cube without paying. The first hour only needs Train, one cube, and one upgrade.

What should I buy first?

The local training-speed or movement upgrade. Roll Arm Materials with leftover Cash. See the upgrades tier list.

Why can I not pick up the first big cube?

Your Strength is below its gate. Keep training and lift a lighter cube for Cash.

Do I need codes to start?

No. The codes hub is empty until a public string redeems. The beginner loop does not wait on codes.
